Biography

DeFalla is an influential Brazilian rock and roll band formed in Porto Alegre in 1985. The group gained national notoriety thanks to their constant and irreverent changes in lineup, visual aesthetics, and musical style, having traversed alternative rock, heavy metal, glam rock, funk rock, and electronic music.

From their emergence on the independent circuit of Rio Grande do Sul to memorable appearances on stages such as Circo Voador in Rio de Janeiro, the band exerted a strong influence on an entire generation of musicians and groups in the 1990s. Among the artists who drew inspiration from them or shared stages with them are heavyweight names such as Nação Zumbi, Planet Hemp, Pato Fu, and Mamonas Assassinas.

Throughout decades on the road and comings and goings, the group led by Edu K recorded emblematic albums and caused amusing controversies, such as the national hit "Popozuda Rock'n'Roll" with its miami bass-oriented sound. Consolidated as one of the pillars of alternative rock in the south of the country, DeFalla remains revered for its artistic boldness and constant reinvention.
