Biography

Délcio Luiz da Silveira was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro on October 10, 1967. He built a solid career in Brazilian music as a singer and songwriter, standing out especially in the universe of samba and the pagode subgenre. Throughout his career, he established himself as one of the most successful songwriters of the 90s, penning over five hundred songs recorded by various nationally prominent groups.

His professional journey began in 1987 when he joined the group Só Preto sem Preconceito as a cavaquinho player. Later, he was a member of Grupo Raça for eight years, had a brief stint with Fundo de Quintal, and experienced one of the most defining moments of his career as the lead vocalist of the group Kiloucura between 1998 and 2000. At the same time, his compositions filled the repertoires of major names of the era, such as Exaltasamba, Só Pra Contrariar, Art Popular, and Molejo.

In 2019, the artist celebrated three decades of dedication to music with the release of a commemorative DVD. The project featured the participation of major exponents of the genre, including Xande de Pilares, Mumuzinho, Péricles, and Ferrugem, reaffirming his enduring importance to Brazilian samba and pagode.
