Biography

Dennison de Lima Gomes, widely known as Dennis DJ or simply DENNIS, is a prominent Brazilian composer, music producer, and DJ born in Duque de Caxias on July 30, 1980. He began his career in the mid-1990s working at a community radio station before joining the legendary funk carioca crew Furacão 2000, where he produced numerous nationally acclaimed tracks and iconic remixes, including the massive hit "Cerol na Mão" by Bonde do Tigrão.

After leaving Furacão 2000, Dennis established his own sound crew and label, "Som do Galerão," and hosted popular radio programs across stations like Beat98 and FM O Dia. Over the decades, he became a central figure in the evolution of funk carioca and funk melody, collaborating with prominent artists such as Kelly Key, MC Marcinho, and Buchecha. His extensive production catalog includes major national hits like "Malandramente," featuring MC Nandinho and MC Nego Bam, which became a massive cultural phenomenon and internet meme in 2016.

In addition to his foundational work in funk, Dennis has consistently bridged musical genres by producing and collaborating with artists from sertanejo, pop, and MPB, including tracks with Lucas Lucco, Wesley Safadão, and even Adriana Calcanhotto. Through his signature brand "Baile do Dennis," he continues to shape the contemporary Brazilian music scene, maintaining a prolific output of chart-topping singles and energetic live performances.
