Biography

João Frederico Sciotti, known artistically as Derico, was born in São Paulo on July 17, 1966. He began his musical journey in childhood, dedicating himself to the study of the flute from the age of five. Throughout his career, he established himself as a saxophonist, in addition to working as a writer and businessman, founding the São Paulo music school Artlivre in 1983.

His national prominence received a major boost in 1990, when he joined the musical group of the show Jô Soares Onze e Meia, broadcast by SBT. Later, he accompanied presenter Jô Soares in his transition to Rede Globo, becoming part of the famous Sexteto do Jô on Programa do Jô until the show ended in 2016. On television, he also hosted the show Na Estrada com Derico, broadcast by EPTV.

In addition to his intense musical career on television, Derico also stood out in the literary field, having released works such as "A Busca Dos Óculos de Graal", "Bobagens.com", and "Volta ao Mundo Numa Bicicleta Ergométrica". His artistic versatility and cultural contribution earned him honors and recognition, including the title of citizen of Artur Nogueira.
