Biography

The band Desejo de Menina is one of the main exponents of electronic forró in Brazil, having been founded in 2003 in the Pernambuco city of Petrolina by businessman Antônio Soares dos Santos. Throughout its trajectory, the group has gone through several memorable line-ups, consolidating unmistakable hits like Diga Sim, Moldura, Sonhos e Planos, and Vida Vazia, which have won over fans across the entire country.

In its first phase, which extended until 2008, the ensemble featured vocalists such as Lenno Ferreira, Mirella Vieira, Léo Ferreira, and Alba Suany, achieving great national projection and receiving prominent awards in the Brazilian music scene. The following decades brought new generations of singers, tenures by artists like Yara Tchê and Alessandro Costa, as well as dozens of albums and audiovisual works that maintained the group's relevance in romantic forró, indirectly sharing space with musical expressions by acclaimed artists like Aviões do Forró and Calcinha Preta.

In the current phase begun in 2024, the band celebrated its 21st anniversary with the release of the audiovisual project Desejo Nostálgico, marking the triumphant return of Lenno Ferreira and Mirella Vieira to the vocals. Consolidated as a true phenomenon of the genre, Desejo de Menina continues to thrill audiences with tours and new recordings of its greatest romantic classics.
