Biography

Detonautas Roque Clube, later known simply as Detonautas, is a Brazilian alternative rock band formed in 1997 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The group's history began in dial-up internet chat rooms, bringing together founders such as Luis Guilherme and Eduardo Simão, and over the years it established itself as one of the major exponents of national rock in the 2000s.

Throughout its trajectory, the band has released several studio albums and achieved national recognition with hits such as "Outro Lugar", "Quando O Sol Se For", and "Olhos Certos". The group also faced tragic moments, such as the murder of guitarist Rodrigo Netto in 2006, in addition to undergoing lineup changes and musical evolution through subgenres like post-grunge, hard rock, and pop rock, collaborating with artists such as Zélia Duncan, Zeca Baleiro, and Frejat.

The ensemble has accumulated appearances at major festivals such as Rock in Rio, Lollapalooza Brazil, and The Town, while maintaining strong engagement through original albums and acoustic projects. With lyrics that range from emotional reflections to poignant social criticisms of Brazilian politics, Detonautas maintains its relevance in the contemporary rock scene.
