Biography

Ademir Marques da Silva, known professionally as Dhema, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter born in São Paulo on June 1, 1960. He began his career as a composer, making his debut on records by the renowned singer Bebeto, with whom he established a fruitful partnership. Together, they crafted several major successes in the Brazilian music scene, including well-known tracks such as "Esperanças Mil" and "Você É Que Me Acalma".

Over the decades, Dhema built a solid solo discography within the swing and popular music genres, releasing his debut album Clube do Swing in 1992. His subsequent releases, such as Swing do Amor in 1994, Dhema in 1995, and Maliciosa in 1997, further cemented his presence in the industry. He also expanded his reach through live performances and commemorative projects, including Dhema ao Vivo in 1999 and Dhema 25 anos de Sucesso in 2013.

His work aligns with the traditions of Brazilian swing, bridging the gap between classic samba-rock and romantic popular styles. Alongside collaborators like Bebeto, Dhema continues to be recognized for his contributions to the country's rhythmic dance music.
