Biography

Dibob is a Brazilian pop punk band originally from Rio de Janeiro, which gained significant popularity in the mid-2000s thanks to their laid-back style and humorous lyrics. The group was founded in 2001 by friends who initially just wanted to play for fun, adopting the name Dibob as an abbreviation of the expression "de bobeira" (hanging out). Among their most notable releases are the EP Markebra and the studio albums O Fantástico Mundo Dibob and A Ópera do Cafajeste.

Throughout their career, the band was part of the vibrant national independent rock scene and shared stages and important moments with other major exponents of the era, such as Forfun. At prominent awards shows, such as the MTV Video Music Brasil, the group collaborated with different formations of the Rio de Janeiro underground scene in tributes to Brazilian rock classics, consolidating their festive and irreverent identity.

Even after periods of hiatus and occasional changes to their original lineup — which features Dedeco, Gesta, Miguel, and Faucom —, the group has maintained its relevance among fans of the genre. Appearances at festivals and the members' side projects have continued to keep the band's legacy alive in the national rock and pop punk scene, interacting with names like Strike and Scracho.
