Biography
Dillo D'Araújo is a musician, songwriter, and guitarist born in Brasília, recognized for his versatility and the fusion of Brazilian rhythms with international influences. His musical career gained prominence starting in 2004, with the release of his first CD, "CrocoDilloGang", which featured a sound more oriented toward the blues. In later works, such as "Mestiço" (2008), Dillo explored the blend of rock, blues, and funk with Brazilian genres like samba and baião, consolidating a signature and contagious style.
Throughout his career, Dillo D'Araújo has shared the stage with renowned Brazilian artists, including Frejat, Moraes Moreira, and Tom Zé, with whom he maintains a relationship of admiration and frequent artistic collaborations. His guitar is considered a sonic heritage of Brasília, and he has also performed as the guitarist for Sistema Criolina and participated in the "Trampa Sinfônica" tour in 2011. In addition to his career as a performer and songwriter, Dillo has also stood out in creating film soundtracks, with works recognized at festivals.
A milestone in his discography is the album "Guitarrafrika" (2019), the result of research into African music that unites the Brazilian guitar with afrobeat roots. This instrumental work, recorded with musicians from South Africa, demonstrates Dillo's ability to navigate different sonic universes, creating universal and danceable music. His most recent album, "Desinteligência Natural", released in 2026, further explores the fusion of rhythms, including references to manguebeat and other Brazilian genres.
