Biography

Fernando de Ouro Preto, widely known as Dinho Ouro Preto, was born in Curitiba on April 27, 1964. The son of a diplomat, he spent his childhood traveling the world before settling in Brasília, where he integrated into the local cultural scene and associated with central figures of the future generation of Brazilian rock, such as Renato Russo and the members of Turma da Colina.

In 1983, following the dissolution of Aborto Elétrico, Dinho joined as the lead singer of the band Capital Inicial, a group that would become one of the great exponents of national rock in the 1980s and 1990s. Throughout his trajectory with the group and in his solo career, the musician collaborated and dialogued with various names in Brazilian music, standing out in projects with artists like Herbert Vianna, Dado Villa-Lobos, and Kiko Zambianchi.

In addition to his strong presence at the helm of Capital Inicial, Dinho released solo works and remained active in the music scene for decades, cementing his name in the history of Brazilian rock. His career was also marked by moments of hiatus, such as in the 1990s, and by an expressive commercial resurgence starting in the 2000s with acoustic albums and commemorative tours.
