Biography

Ondino Santana, known artistically as Dino Santana, was born in Niterói on August 9, 1940. A Brazilian actor, businessman, producer, and comedian, he built an artistic career closely tied to the world of comedy and his family's projects, being the brother of Dedé Santana and nephew of Colé Santana. He became widely known for forming the duo Maloca and Bonitão alongside Dedé, in addition to participating in numerous works and sketches alongside the group Os Trapalhões.

Throughout his career in film and television, Dino frequently acted as a supporting actor, playing memorable characters such as the "Desert Devotee" in the film Os Trapalhões e o Mágico de Oroz (1984), as well as various villain roles in productions like Atrapalhando a Suate (1983) and Os Fantasmas Trapalhões (1987). His collaboration with his brother also extended to television on the show Dedé e o Comando Maluco. Besides acting in front of the cameras, he worked as a show producer for the group at the Beto Carrero World theme park and established a successful partnership in the 1990s with Sérgio Mallandro, directing circus shows and the program Festa do Mallandro.

Dino Santana passed away in Rio de Janeiro on December 26, 2010, at the age of 70, as a victim of prostate cancer. His contribution to national humor remains marked by his comedic partnerships and his dedication behind the scenes and on the stages of Brazilian comedy, alongside fundamental entertainment names like Sérgio Mallandro and Dedé Santana.
