DJ Alpiste is a prominent Brazilian gospel rap artist born in São Paulo. He began his career in the 1980s working as a DJ for sound systems such as Zimbabwe and Black Mad, before establishing himself as a pioneering figure in Christian hip hop by combining rap music with Protestant religious themes.

Throughout his career, he has achieved significant recognition within both the mainstream and gospel music scenes in Brazil. In 1993, following his conversion to Protestantism, he collaborated with the band Kadoshi on the track "Ser ou não ser" and later released notable albums like Transformação. His contributions to the genre earned him accolades such as the Hutúz Award for Best Gospel Group or Solo Artist in 2003, alongside multiple nominations at events like the Troféu Talento.

His extensive discography spans decades, including impactful releases such as Efésios 6:12, Fanático, and 20 anos de rap cristão, further cementing his legacy alongside contemporary urban artists like Apocalipse 16.
