Marco Aurélio Marinho, better known as DJ Mam, is a DJ, producer, and songwriter from Rio de Janeiro, born in 1972. With a career spanning over 20 years, Mam stands out for his ability to blend Brazilian rhythms with electronic music, creating a unique and festive sound. He is known for his work as the official DJ of the Copacabana New Year's Eve celebration and for having played in over 15 countries, taking Brazilian music to the world.
Throughout his career, DJ Mam has collaborated with several renowned artists of Brazilian popular music, such as Gilberto Gil, Luedji Luna, BaianaSystem, Criolo, Lenine, Dona Onete, Alceu Valença, and BNegão. His music is marked by the fusion of genres such as samba, carimbó, coco, samba-de-roda, bossa nova, manguebeat, funk, and baião, always wrapped in modern electronic beats. This sonic identity led him to create projects like "Sotaque Carregado" and "Carnaval Remix", which celebrate Brazilian musical diversity.
In addition to his work as a DJ and producer, Mam is also dedicated to socio-environmental causes and the appreciation of indigenous and diasporic peoples.
