Biography

Wellington Braga Inácio, better known as DJ Negralha, is a Brazilian DJ, music producer, and percussionist with a career spanning over 30 years dedicated to black music and hip hop.

He began his journey in 1989, in ABC Paulista, influenced by friends and by black music and reggae culture. He gained notoriety upon becoming the DJ for the band O Rappa in 1998, a position he held for over 20 years, participating in national and international tours and iconic recordings by the group. Alongside his work with O Rappa, Negralha also integrated other musical projects, such as Eletrosamba, a fusion of samba rock with electronic beats, and the band Afrojazz.

Throughout his career, DJ Negralha has stood out for his versatility and for mixing elements of rap, soul, reggae, dub, and MPB in his sets and productions, always seeking to imprint a Brazilian identity on his music. He has also ventured as a vocalist in his own authorial projects, demonstrating his artistic evolution and commitment to musical renewal. Negralha is recognized for his relevance in the hip hop movement and for his social and activist work.
