Biography

Marcos Dias Carneiro, artistically known as Don Pixote, is a prominent name in national hip hop, born in Lapa and raised in Jaraguá, São Paulo. His musical journey began early, at age 12, when he joined the group Pivet's DMC, where he developed his songwriting and rhyming skills. Initially inspired by his older brother, Don Pixote found in rap a powerful form of expression.

After a period away from the stage, a meeting with Mano Brown, from Racionais MC's, in 2005 was a turning point in his career. Brown encouraged him to return to rap, which led him to form the group U-Time that same year, alongside Helião (from RZO), DJ Ajamu, Nego Vando, and Caladu. The group released the album "Trutas e Quebradas" in 2006, featuring collaborations with names like Edi Rock and MC Catra. Don Pixote also had stints with Racionais MC's and Big Ben Bang Johnson.

Currently, Don Pixote pursues a solo career, solidifying his artistic identity with striking beats and lyrics that address various facets of life. His musical influence ranges from traditional samba and samba rock to rap, demonstrating a versatility that makes him stand out in the Brazilian music scene. He has collaborated with artists such as Edi Rock, Dexter, and Seu Jorge, and has released albums produced even in Europe, remaining active and relevant in the national rap scene.
