Biography

João Donato Oliveira Filho, known artistically as Donatinho, was born in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro. The son of renowned pianist and composer João Donato, he inherited musical talent and began his career at age 16, joining his father's band on tours throughout Brazil. His musical formation was shaped by paternal influence, but also by jazz and black music, with an admiration for artists like Herbie Hancock. Donatinho stands out as a keyboardist and music producer, recognized for his ability to blend Brazilian rhythms with electronic elements and vintage synthesizer sounds.

Throughout his career, Donatinho has collaborated with a vast array of Brazilian artists from different generations and styles, including Fernanda Abreu, Toni Garrido, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Davi Moraes, Preta Gil, Luis Carlinhos, Celso Fonseca, Vanessa da Mata, Ana Carolina, Ivete Sangalo, Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Djavan, Gal Costa, and Marcos Valle. His versatility has led him to participate in major festivals such as Rock in Rio and the Paléo Festival, in addition to international shows. He is also known for his work with the multimedia group Zambê and for his partnerships with his father, João Donato, on projects such as the album "Sintetizamor".

Donatinho is a multifaceted artist who also explores other creative facets, such as photography and music production at his studio, Synth Love. He has been awarded multiple times, including the Brazilian Music Award for his albums "Zambê" and "Sintetizamor." His music is marked by innovation, genre fusion, and the pursuit of new sounds, consolidating him as one of the most creative and restless talents in contemporary Brazilian music.
