Biography
Doralyce Augusta Rodrigues da Silva, known artistically as Doralyce, is a singer and songwriter from Pernambuco born in Olinda, on October 19, 1989. She grew up divided between the Zona da Mata Sul and the Metropolitan Region of Recife, and began her musical career in 2010, joining the percussive artistic group Conxitas. Her work is marked by the fusion of Brazilian regional rhythms with contemporary influences, addressing themes such as afrofuturism, feminism, cultural activism, ancestry, affection, and the anti-racist struggle. Her powerful voice and sonic versatility solidify her as a multi-artist of the new Brazilian music scene.
In 2015, Doralyce musically directed and sang her compositions in the show "Cena Real… É Tudo Verdade", which premiered internationally in Mexico and had its soundtrack awarded at festivals. In 2016, she stood out in performances in Lapa and Santa Teresa, in Rio de Janeiro, sharing the stage with artists such as Criolo, Arlindo Cruz, Chico Buarque, and Beth Carvalho. Her original repertoire at the time featured references from maracatu, coco, manguebeat, rock, ijexá, funk, and samba. She released her first EP, "Canto da Revolução", in 2017, with musical production by Renato Piau and direction by Dudu Souto and Pedro Amparo. In 2018, she toured Europe alongside Bia Ferreira.
Doralyce is the founder and CEO of the label/office Colmeia 22 and the creator of the "Dassalu" philosophy. Her career includes releases such as the EPs "Canto da Revolução" (2017), "Pílula Livre" (2019), and the albums "Dádiva" (2022) and "Dassalu" (2023), the latter featuring João Donato. She is also a music curator and a member of the Latin Grammy and Grammy Awards academy. In 2026, she released the single "Tem Gente Aí?", previewing the EP "Latina Brasileira", which celebrates Black and northeastern women.
