Biography

O Dream Team do Passinho emerged in Rio de Janeiro in 2013, establishing itself as one of the main exponents of the passinho movement, an urban dance offshoot originating from Rio's funk parties. The group's formation happened after the members were brought together to participate in a commercial video, whose resounding success on the internet motivated the official creation of the band. Mixing dance, singing, and collective compositions, the group quickly expanded its work beyond social networks, making appearances in television programs, fashion shows, and major festivals across the country.

In 2015, the ensemble signed a contract with the record label Sony Music for the release of their first studio album, titled Aperte o Play. The work generated national and international repercussion, leading the group to tour Brazilian and foreign cities, in addition to placing tracks on the soundtracks of high-viewership soap operas on television. Throughout its trajectory, the collective also collaborated with various prominent artists, including participation in shows at the Rock in Rio festival alongside names like Fernanda Abreu and Alicia Keys.

Representing with a strong cultural appeal the identity of favelas and funk parties, the group paved the way for new rhythmic and bodily expressions within the Brazilian urban scene. With an artistic proposal that united singing and energetic choreography, they shared stages and memorable moments with references from pop music and MPB. Even with lineup changes over the years, the group's legacy remains rooted in the recent history of Brazilian funk and in the valorization of peripheral dance.
