Biography

Carlos Eduardo da Silva Batista Leite, known artistically as MC Du Black, was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1995. Before dedicating himself fully to music, he worked as a locksmith in the northern zone of Rio, having taken his first artistic steps playing in churches with the support of his older brother, a place where he also developed his skills as a songwriter.

In 2019, the singer achieved major national recognition with the hit "Gaiola É o Troco", a track that reached the top of the Spotify charts in Brazil. The song pays tribute to Baile da Gaiola, an emblematic event of the Rio de Janeiro scene associated with 150 BPM funk and conceived by figures like Rennan da Penha. Following this success, he solidified his career with other prominent releases, such as "50 Tons", "Eu Só me Faço de Bobo" and the collaboration "Tudo Aconteceu", recorded with the support of rapper Delacruz.

MC Du Black's style stands out for the fusion of carioca funk with elements of electronic music, relying on melodic vocals combined with fast-paced beats. Throughout his career, the artist has collaborated with various exponents of national music, such as Léo Santana, Jojo Todynho and Ludmilla, in addition to being part of special projects celebrating funk alongside producers like Dennis DJ.
