Biography

João Eduardo de Salles Nobre, better known as Dudu Nobre, was born in Rio de Janeiro and consolidated his path as one of the great composers and singers of Brazilian samba. He began his musical training in childhood, studying classical piano at age five, before finding the cavaquinho, the instrument that would mark his artistic identity. The son of an engineer and grandson of deep cultural roots, Dudu built close ties with the aristocracy of samba, being the godson of renowned sambista Zeca Pagodinho and the cousin of singer Seu Jorge.

Throughout his career, which began discographically in the late 1990s with albums like Moleque Dudu and Chegue Mais, Dudu Nobre stood out both in his songwriting and in the interpretation of striking samba-enredo for Rio de Janeiro samba schools. His skill with the cavaquinho led him to transition naturally through traditional samba circles and contemporary productions, accumulating expressive awards in carnival ceremonies such as the Troféu Sambario, Gato de Prata, and S@mba-net.

In addition to his phonographic output, which includes dozens of albums and live projects, Dudu Nobre expanded his presence to television, participating in reality shows like Dança dos Famosos and The Masked Singer Brasil. As a legitimate heir to the genre's traditions and an active figure in Carnival, he continues to influence new generations of sambistas, keeping the essence of traditional samba alive alongside important exponents of national music.
