Biography

Duo Glacial was a renowned Brazilian sertaneja music duo formed by siblings Miguel Cerván Vidal and Ana Cerván Vidal. The brother and sister began singing together in Araraquara in 1955, later moving to São Paulo where they officially adopted the name Duo Glacial in 1959. Their artistic identity and style were deeply inspired by legendary rural music acts such as Cascatinha e Inhana.

Throughout their prolific career, the duo recorded 26 LPs and 4 CDs, becoming a prominent fixture in Brazilian caipira and sertaneja music. One of their most notable achievements occurred in 1967, when they secured first place in a Rádio Nacional contest performing the song "Poeira," composed by Luiz Bonan and Serafim Colombo Gomes.

The siblings maintained a lifelong partnership on stage until their passing in 2015. Ana passed away in May of that year following cardiac arrests, and Miguel tragically followed less than a month later in June, leaving behind a rich legacy in traditional Brazilian roots music.
