Biography
É Demais was a Brazilian pagode group formed in São Paulo in 1996. The band gained significant popularity due to their frequent live performances, which led to their song "Cena de Cinema" becoming widely recognized even before the release of their first album. This track was a frequent request on radio stations across Brazil in 1999. The group's debut album, released under the Atração label, featured original compositions and songs by established artists. It also included a collaboration with notable pagode musicians like Carica (from Sensação), Edu (from Da Melhor Qualidade), and Rodriguinho (from Os Travessos) on the track "Firma do Pagode."
In 2003, É Demais was invited to participate in Neguinho da Beija-Flor's album "Duetos," where they performed the song "Poxa." The group's music is characterized by the typical pagode sound, with romantic lyrics and a strong rhythmic base, often incorporating influences from samba and other Brazilian popular music genres. Their success in the late 1990s and early 2000s positioned them as a relevant act within the pagode scene during that era.
While the group's active years were primarily in the late 90s and early 2000s, their impact on the pagode genre is remembered by fans. Like many groups from that period, É Demais contributed to the vibrant landscape of Brazilian popular music, leaving behind a discography that reflects the sound and themes popular at the time. Their journey exemplifies the rise and fall of many bands in the competitive Brazilian music market, yet their hit song "Cena de Cinema" remains a nostalgic reminder of their presence.
