Biography

Eduardo Oliveira Araújo, born in Joaíma, Minas Gerais, established himself as one of the great names in Brazilian music by joining the iconic Jovem Guarda movement in the 1960s. Influenced since childhood by rock and roll and rockabilly, he moved to Rio de Janeiro where he began his artistic career, quickly standing out as an exponent of the genre and landing major hits such as the song "O Bom". Throughout his career, he demonstrated versatility by moving across different musical styles, pioneering the introduction of soul music in Brazil with the album A Onda é Boogaloo, produced by Tim Maia, in addition to exploring psychedelia, progressive rock, and influences from caipira and country music.

The artist's career was also marked by major partnerships and constant innovation in his recording projects, such as the release of albums focused on environmental themes and social causes. Over the decades, Eduardo Araújo collaborated with important figures of the national scene, such as Erasmo Carlos, Roberto Carlos, Sylvinha — to whom he was married —, Renato Teixeira, and Sérgio Reis, as well as recording international projects in Nashville. His work moves between the memory of Brazilian rock, roots music, and cultural engagement, reflected in memorable albums and his continuous work in television and the preservation of rural culture.
