Biography

Egidio Conde was a Brazilian guitarist and sound engineer, born in Galicia, Spain, on August 22, 1913. He stood out in the Brazilian music scene as a founding member and guitarist of the progressive rock band Moto Perpétuo, formed in 1969 in São Paulo. The band, which also launched Guilherme Arantes, released a single self-titled album in 1974, considered a cult classic of national progressive rock. Conde also had stints with other groups, such as Som Nosso de Cada Dia, in the early 1970s.

In addition to his career as a musician, Egidio Conde also worked as a sound engineer, owning the Audiomobile mobile studio and Classic Master, one of the largest mastering studios in the country. His skill with the guitar earned him recognition as "Best Guitarist" twice by Rolling Stone Brasil magazine. His musical and technical influence made him a respected figure in the Brazilian music scene.

Egidio Conde passed away on April 3, 2015, as a victim of cancer. His passing represented a great loss for Brazilian music, but his legacy endures through the recordings of his bands and his work as a sound engineer. He is remembered as a talented musician and a dedicated professional who contributed significantly to the rich tapestry of Brazilian popular music.
