Biography
El Efecto is a Brazilian rock band formed in 2002 by Tomás Rosati, Bruno Danton, and Eduardo Baker. The group stands out on the national music scene for adopting an independent stance, making all of their studio works available for free download on their official page. Their compositions are known for addressing political and social themes, connecting alternative rock to elements of Brazilian culture.
Throughout their career, the quintet has earned important recognition, such as a nomination for the Brazilian Music Award in 2013 in the Best Pop/Rock/Reggae/Hip Hop/Funk Group category, driven by the album "Pedras e Sonhos". Among the group's most resonant songs is "O Encontro de Lampião com Eike Batista", a track that uses cordel literature to narrate a fictional clash between the famous bandit and the businessman, reflecting on the dynamics of capitalism and national politics. The band has also expanded its sound and performance format, including acoustic works and international tours in countries like Portugal and Spain.
The group's lineup has undergone several transformations over the years, currently featuring musicians such as Bruno Danton, Gustavo Loureiro, Eduardo Baker, Tomás Rosati, Cristine Ariel, Pedro Lima, Tomás Tróia, and Aline Gonçalves. Names like Daíra Saboia have also collaborated on the ensemble's projects, strengthening their insertion into the contemporary independent scene alongside artists engaged in the renewal of Brazilian music.
