Biography

El Toro Fuerte is a rock band formed in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 2015. Composed of João Carvalho (bass, guitar, and vocals), Diego Soares (guitar, bass, and vocals), Gabriel Martins (drums), and Fábio de Carvalho (guitar and vocals), the group stood out in the Brazilian independent scene with their eclectic sound and introspective lyrics.

In 2016, they released their debut album, "Um Tempo Lindo Pra Estar Vivo", which was well received by critics and the public alike, earning nominations for "Best New Artist" and "Song of the Year" at the Riff Music Award. The record was promoted with a tour through the Northeast, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo, and appeared on year-end best lists in specialized publications. The band also performed at major festivals such as Festival Bananada in Goiânia.

Their second album, "Nossos Amigos e os Lugares que Visitamos", released in 2019, consolidated the band, further exploring sound textures and themes, with influences ranging from shoegaze to math rock, as well as emo, hip hop, and Brazilian music. The participation of Fábio de Carvalho and guest female vocalists enriched the work, which addresses themes such as self-knowledge, loss, and reunions, reflecting the members' maturation and the group's resilience in maintaining their unity over the years.
