Biography

Eliane Faria is a Brazilian singer born in Rio de Janeiro on August 13, 1965. The daughter of renowned singer and composer Paulinho da Viola, Eliane began her artistic career interpreting her father's compositions in a project called "A Filha Canta o Pai" (The Daughter Sings for the Father), alongside other singers such as Nara Gil and Mart'nália. She carries the nickname "Filha do Samba" (Daughter of Samba), given to her by Nelson Sargento, and has the genre as the main focus of her work.

Her discography includes the solo album "Alma Feminina", released in 2003, which was recorded live and featured her own production. Later, in 2017, she released the CD "Três no Samba" in a trio with André Mehmari and Gordinho do Surdo. Throughout her career, Eliane Faria has had the opportunity to share vocals and stages with great names in Brazilian music, such as Elza Soares, Beth Carvalho, Djavan, Dona Ivone Lara, and Martinho da Vila, among many others.

Raised in the choro and samba circles of Botafogo, Eliane Faria is the granddaughter of acoustic guitarist César Faria, founder of the group Época de Ouro, and the goddaughter of Mauro Duarte and Violeta Cavalcante. Her journey is marked by a strong connection to samba and the preservation of her roots, which has consolidated her as an important interpreter and heir to this Brazilian musical genre.
