Biography

Elias Muniz Sobrinho is a renowned Brazilian singer and composer born in Barra de São Francisco around 1970. Throughout his prolific career, he has authored more than 1,200 recorded songs, establishing himself as a significant figure in Brazilian popular and sertanejo music. His compositions have been interpreted by prominent artists such as Nelson Ned, Roberta Miranda, and Daniel.

A major milestone in his career came when his composition "Viola Está Chorando" became a massive hit, initially recorded by Joel Marques and later by the famous duos like João Mineiro & Marciano. In addition to his work in sertanejo, Muniz formed a successful songwriting partnership with Luiz Carlos, the frontman of the iconic pagode group Raça Negra, co-writing over 100 tracks together.

Among his greatest achievements is the mega-hit "É Tarde Demais," co-written with Luiz Carlos and recorded by Raça Negra on their 1995 album. The track earned a place in the Guinness World Records for being the most-played song in a single day. Alongside his extensive songwriting legacy, Muniz has released several solo albums throughout his career, including Sonho Bonito and Ela É Demais.
