Biography

Elisa de Sena is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, percussionist, actress, presenter, producer, and cultural manager, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 1982. With over 20 years of experience in the arts, her work is marked by a commitment to the themes of Black people, women, and nature, integrating elements of ancestry and the culture of Minas Gerais into her music.

Her background in history, music, and performing arts, combined with her life experience with the congados of Minas Gerais and the Black movement, shaped her artistic identity. Elisa is a co-founder of the Coletivo Negras Autoras and is a member of the Grupo Tambor Mineiro, in addition to working as an educator and advisor in cultural projects and anti-racism initiatives. Her art seeks "transmutation" through the voice, body, and words, breaking with traditional structures and promoting representation.

Elisa de Sena released her debut album, "Cura," in 2019, sponsored by Natura Musical. In 2025/2026, she released her second solo album, "Orgânica," funded by the National Aldir Blanc Law Award. Throughout her career, she has performed in several countries, including Greece, the Dominican Republic, Portugal, and the United States, as well as numerous cities in Brazil. Her versatility has also led her to act in series, films, commercials, and theater, and to host major events such as the BDMG Instrumental Award and the Virada Cultural in Belo Horizonte.
