Biography

Eneias Xavier is a renowned Brazilian bassist, pianist, classical guitarist, guitarist, composer, arranger, and music teacher, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. With a consolidated career spanning nearly three decades, he stands out in the Brazilian instrumental music scene, having released three solo albums: "Jamba" (2004), "O Peregrino" (2008), and "Novo Tempo" (2019). His versatility and talent have led him to collaborate with a wide range of nationally and internationally renowned artists, including Milton Nascimento, Toninho Horta, Chico Amaral, Flávio Venturini, Beto Guedes, Maria Schneider, Chris Potter, and Dean Brown.

His musical journey is marked by the exploration of various genres, moving masterfully between jazz, samba, and Brazilian rhythms, in addition to having actively participated in projects within gospel and secular music. Eneias Xavier is also recognized for his work as a translator, having translated books by the legendary bassist Ron Carter into Portuguese. His role as an educator is equally significant, serving as a professor at the Bituca Universidade de Música Popular and founder of the MG Big Band.
