Biography
Érico Brás de Oliveira is a Brazilian actor, singer, comedian, and presenter, born in Salvador, Bahia. He became widely known for his comedic performances on television and in film, standing out in the portrayal of memorable characters such as Reginaldo the taxi driver, in both the film and the homonymous series Ó Paí, Ó, and Jurandir in the series Tapas & Beijos. Before achieving artistic acclaim, he worked in several professions and joined the traditional Bando de Teatro Olodum, where he consolidated his theatrical training.
In addition to his career in television and film comedy, Érico Brás has also demonstrated strong social engagement through art. In 2013, he created the YouTube channel Tá bom pra você?, an initiative that recreates television commercials using exclusively casts formed by Black artists, with the objective of debating and questioning representation and structural racism in Brazilian advertising. The artist easily transitions between dramatic acting and humor, participating in productions of great cultural relevance alongside fundamental names of national dramaturgy.
In the music and Afro-Brazilian culture scene, his trajectory connects profoundly with fundamental artistic collectives from Bahia, dialoguing with the rich cultural heritage that also influenced major exponents of MPB and the artistic scene of Salvador, such as Lázaro Ramos, Bete Brant, and the other members of Bando de Teatro Olodum. His versatility as a singer and actor enriches the Brazilian cultural landscape, uniting entertainment with critical reflection on society.
