Biography

Erivaldinho do Acordeon, born Elisaldo Santos de Oliveira, was a Brazilian singer, accordionist, and composer known for his contributions to forró music. He hailed from a musically gifted family, being the son of the renowned accordionist Erivaldo de Carira and brother to musicians Mestrinho and Thais Nogueira. Erivaldinho began his career in his youth, even recording with the band Calcinha Preta at a young age.

Throughout his career, Erivaldinho collaborated with several prominent artists in the Brazilian music scene, including Marília Mendonça, Tierry, and Gusttavo Lima. His music, deeply rooted in the northeastern rhythms of Brazil, brought joy and energy to his audiences. He was also known for sharing his passion for the accordion through tutorials on his YouTube channel, aiming to teach others how to play the instrument.

Erivaldinho battled intestinal cancer since 2018 and passed away on February 14, 2024, at the age of 47 in Belo Horizonte. His death was a significant loss to the Brazilian music community, leaving behind a legacy of vibrant forró music and a family deeply ingrained in the genre. His music continues to be celebrated by fans and fellow artists.
