Ernani Campos Porto, born in Muriaé, Minas Gerais, on April 3, 1954, is a Brazilian businessman and politician. His early life was marked by resilience, as he began working at the age of 11 to help his family financially. His first jobs included shining shoes and selling popsicles, activities that instilled in him a strong work ethic and determination. Despite facing financial hardships, Campos harbored dreams of becoming a professional football player, even joining the local team Nacional and being scouted by Botafogo. However, his mother's hesitation led him to pursue a different path, focusing on his administrative and entrepreneurial skills.

Campos's career trajectory took a significant turn when he moved to Caratinga, Minas Gerais, in 1978. There, he co-founded the company Campos Porto with his brother, engaging in business ventures that laid the foundation for his future success.
