Biography

Rodrigo da Fonseca Tavares, better known as Esteban Tavares, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born in Camaquã, Rio Grande do Sul. He began his artistic journey in his teens, playing drums and guitar, and lived in several cities before making a name for himself in the national rock scene. He became widely known for his work as the bassist of the band Fresno, with whom he recorded landmark albums and shared songwriting duties alongside Lucas Silveira, in addition to being part of side projects such as the independent group aBRIL and Trio Grande do Sul.

After leaving Fresno, Tavares solidified his solo career under the pseudonym Esteban, playing multiple instruments on his albums and exploring sounds ranging from alternative rock to gaúcho folk music and independent influences. His solo project debuted with the album ¡Adiós, Esteban!, followed by acclaimed works like Saca La Muerte de Tu Vida and Eu, Tu e o Mundo. In addition to his solo career and bands, the musician has established prominent partnerships with renowned artists from the Brazilian scene, such as Humberto Gessinger, with whom he has collaborated on tours and studio productions.
