Biography

Estrela Ruiz Leminski is a Brazilian writer, composer, and musician born in Curitiba in 1981. She comes from an artistic and plural family background, being the daughter of renowned poets Paulo Leminski and Alice Ruiz. She pursued her academic education by earning a degree in music from the Faculdade de Artes do Paraná, followed by specialization in Brazilian Popular Music and master's degrees in Music and Musicology in Valladolid, Spain.

In 2014, she launched the project Leminskanções, dedicated to reviving and celebrating the lesser-known musical and songwriting side of her father, who is predominantly remembered for his poetry. Alongside her husband and musical partner Téo Ruiz, she has released several albums under the moniker Estrela Leminski e Téo Ruiz, including Músicas de Ruiz, São Sons, and Tudo Que Não Quero Falar Sobre Amor. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with various notable Brazilian artists and producers such as Dante Ozzetti, Pupillo, and John Ulhoa, blending her literary heritage with contemporary MPB.
