Evaldo Braga was a notable Brazilian singer and composer born in Campos dos Goytacazes, whose life was marked by both profound personal hardship and significant artistic success. Born into challenging circumstances, he spent part of his childhood in institutions before launching a successful career in the music industry during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Guided by producer Osmar Navarro, he rose to fame with his hit single "Só Quero" and his debut album, establishing himself as a prominent figure in brega and black music alongside artists like Carmen Lúcia.

His career, though tragically brief, left a lasting impact on Brazilian popular music with beloved releases such as O Ídolo Negro Vol. 2.
