Biography

Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1979, considered one of the pioneers and most influential of the genre.

Since its formation, the band has released thirteen studio albums, three live albums, and one compilation, selling over 5 million copies worldwide. Alongside other bands such as Testament, Death Angel, and Metallica — whose guitarist Kirk Hammett was one of the founders of Exodus —, they are credited as the precursors of the Bay Area thrash metal scene. The band's success was notable in the 1980s with their first three albums: "Bonded by Blood" (1985), "Pleasures of the Flesh" (1987), and "Fabulous Disaster" (1989).

Despite going through several lineup changes over the years, including the departure and return of original members like Tom Hunting and the participation of Kirk Hammett before joining Metallica, Exodus has maintained its sonic identity. Currently, the band consists of Gary Holt, Jack Gibson, Lee Altus, Tom Hunting, and Rob Dukes, and remains active, releasing new material and touring the world.
