Biography

Exporta Samba is a Brazilian samba and pagode musical group, founded on July 14, 1969, in Rio de Janeiro. Its trajectory is intertwined with the history of Rio de Janeiro's samba, having actively participated in the samba circles of Teatro Opinião in the 1970s, alongside great names such as Cartola, Candeia, Nelson Cavaquinho, Clementina de Jesus, Martinho da Vila, D. Ivone Lara, João Nogueira, Roberto Ribeiro, and Leci Brandão. The original lineup featured singer and songwriter Dominguinhos do Estácio.

The group gained national prominence after participating in TV Globo's "Festival MPB Shell" in 1980, with the song "Reunião de bacana". The following year, they won third place in the same festival with "Mordomia", performed in partnership with Almir Guineto. In 1981, they released the LP "Reunião de bacana", which became a milestone in their discography, followed by "Valeu a experiência" in 1987, produced by cavaquinho player Ratinho Exporta. Throughout their career, Exporta Samba has released several albums on LP and CD, consolidating themselves as one of the exponents of Brazilian samba and pagode.

With a lineup that included names such as Ratinho Exporta (cavaquinho and vocals), Beijoca (reco-reco), Leo Silva (cavaco), Evandro Exporta (tantan), Betão (surdo), and Jard´s do Pandeiro (pandeiro), the group maintained its musical relevance. In the 1990s, Ratinho Exporta led a samba circle on Radial Leste, in São Paulo, keeping the genre's tradition alive. Exporta Samba participated in important projects and shows, such as the "Projeto Homenagem" to Clementina de Jesus and the "Roda de Bamba do Museu da Imagem e do Som", alongside other samba masters.
