Biography

Fabiano do Nascimento is a Brazilian-American guitarist, composer, arranger, and producer, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1983. With deep roots in Brazilian music, he incorporates traditions of afro-samba, choro, and folk music into his work, blending them with elements of jazz, experimental, and electronic music. His skill with multi-string and tuned guitars, including seven-string, ten-string, Oktav, and baritone models, contributes to his unique and expansive sound.

Nascimento comes from a musical family, being the great-grandson of saxophonist Ladário Teixeira and having studied with his uncle, bassist and composer Lúcio Nascimento. After moving to Los Angeles in 2001, he quickly established himself as a sought-after musician, collaborating with a wide range of artists. In 2005, he co-founded the Latin jazz group Triorganico, and has since released over sixteen solo and collaborative albums, receiving critical acclaim from specialized media.

His music has been described as "seraphic, hypnotic, and transcendent" by NPR Music. Fabiano do Nascimento has performed on renowned platforms, such as NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series, and his albums have been released by labels like Leaving Records, Far Out Recordings, Now-Again Records, and Real World Records. He continues to push the boundaries of Brazilian music, fusing tradition with an ever-evolving sonic vision.
