Biography

Fábio Caramuru was born in São Paulo on September 14, 1956, and has built a solid career as a pianist, composer, and producer. In the 1980s, he perfected his skills in Paris as the last Brazilian student of Magda Tagliaferro, receiving a scholarship from the French government. His debut as a soloist took place in 1977 with OSESP, performing Stravinsky's work, and over the years his career has taken him to the stages of Europe, Asia, and the United States.

In addition to his intense activity in classical music and the dissemination of the traditional repertoire, Caramuru has stood out for his dedication to the work of Tom Jobim and for striking partnerships, such as the original work carried out alongside double bassist Pedro Baldanza. As a producer and curator, he has led important cultural projects in prominent institutions in Brazil, fostering the circulation of recitals and concerts dedicated to the piano and Brazilian music.

His discography and live performances move fluidly between erudition and contemporary improvisation, including appearances at international festivals and collaborations with prestigious orchestras. With recognized acclaim from critics, including APCA awards, the artist maintains a legacy of technical rigor and constant reinvention on the national music scene.
