Biography

Fabio Golfetti is a prominent Brazilian musician, guitarist, and record producer, born in São Paulo. Growing up, he was heavily inspired by legendary international acts like Pink Floyd and Gong, which eventually shaped his distinctive musical trajectory in progressive and psychedelic rock. Throughout his career, he has been a driving force in the Brazilian underground and alternative scene, participating in several influential groups and shaping the sound of modern Brazilian psychedelic music alongside contemporaries such as Guilherme Isnard.

In 1985, Golfetti co-founded the highly regarded psychedelic rock band Violeta de Outono, serving as its principal guitarist and creative anchor. Beyond his foundational work with Violeta de Outono, he formed parallel projects such as The Invisible Opera Company of Tibet (Tropical Version Brazil), further cementing his connection to psychedelic aesthetics. His musical journey also included early stints with pioneering groups like Zero, where he contributed to their foundational recordings alongside artists like Cláudio Souza.

In addition to his domestic achievements, Golfetti achieved significant international recognition as a full-time guitarist for the iconic franco-british band Gong starting in 2012. His global footprint expanded through extensive international tours and acclaimed studio albums like Rejoice! I'm Dead! and The Universe Also Collapses. Continuing to innovate, he has also ventured into ambient electronic and instrumental jazz projects, collaborating with artists such as Renato Mello and his son Gabriel from the band Stratus Luna.
