Biography

Marcondes Falcão Maia, known professionally as Falcão, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, humorist, television presenter, and architect. Born in Pereiro, Ceará, he grew up in a modest household before moving to Fortaleza to pursue his education. Initially trained in architecture at the Federal University of Ceará, he eventually carved out a unique artistic path characterized by his irreverent humor, colorful and flamboyant stage outfits, and a satirical take on traditional genres.

Falcão rose to prominence in the early 1990s with his humorous style often associated with the brega genre. His breakthrough came with tracks like "I'm Not Dog No," a satirical English translation of Waldick Soriano's classic "Eu Não Sou Cachorro, Não," and "Black People Car," which translated Almir Rogério's "Fuscão Preto." Throughout his career, he released several successful albums such as Bonito, Lindo e Joiado and A Besteira é a Base da Sabedoria, cementing his status as a unique pop culture icon in Brazil. Alongside his musical endeavors, Falcão has hosted television talk shows such as Leruaite and made appearances in Brazilian cinema.

His distinct musical style drew inspiration from popular Brazilian artists like Waldick Soriano, Raul Seixas, and Belchior, while merging folk roots with sharp comedy. Over the decades, Falcão has collaborated with various acts across the Brazilian artistic scene, including singer Raimundo Fagner and rock bands like Massacration.
