Biography

Familia Lima is a renowned Brazilian symphonic rock band formed in 1994 in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, specifically with roots in Sapiranga and Morro Reuter. The group is celebrated for its unique musical style that blends classical music with elements of folk, rock, and pop, having sold over one million copies of their albums throughout an illustrious career.

The band was originally established by family members José Carlos and Lorena alongside their sons Amon-rá, Moisés, and João Lucas, later joined by their cousin Allen. Over the decades, they have performed in over 13 countries worldwide, notably playing at the Vatican's Piazza San Pietro for Pope John Paul II during the Family Jubilee in the year 2000. In addition to extensive international tours, they notably collaborated with legendary Brazilian metal band Angra on their Angels Cry 20th Anniversary Tour in 2013.

In 2013, the group celebrated their two-decade milestone by releasing the DVD Raízes, featuring heavily rearranged covers of traditional Rio Grande do Sul artists into their signature pop rock and erudite style. Furthermore, in 2016, they gained widespread national television exposure as the house band for the Rede Globo Sunday game show Tamanho Família, hosted by Márcio Garcia.
