Biography

Fanfarra Black Clube is a Brazilian brass band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2013. The group emerged from a desire among musician friends to inject a fresh sound into the Rio carnival, blending funk, disco, and black music with energetic instrumental arrangements. Their official debut in the 2014 carnival saw them draw a crowd of over two thousand people during surprise performances.

Since their inception, Fanfarra Black Clube has become a regular presence at cultural events such as the SESC Arts Circuit in São Paulo and the Virada Sustentável in Rio de Janeiro. They have also performed at renowned venues like Audioclub in São Paulo and Circo Voador and Imperator in Rio, both as headliners and as opening acts for notable national and international artists, including B Negão e os Seletores de Frequência and the American brass band Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.

The band's vibrant creativity and cohesive sound, honed over years of playing together, have resulted in an original repertoire characterized by joy, swing, and groove. Their music often features covers of well-known songs by Brazilian artists like Tim Maia and Jorge Ben, alongside international hits, all reinterpreted with their distinctive brass-driven style. The ensemble is known for its powerful horn section, including saxophones, trumpets, and trombones, complemented by a dynamic percussion section.
