Biography

Fê Lemos is a prominent Brazilian musician and drummer, best known as a founding member of the iconic rock band Capital Inicial alongside his brother, bassist Flávio Lemos. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he later became a central figure in the vibrant capital city's music scene, playing a crucial role in the development of Brazilian rock during the 1980s. Before achieving mainstream success with Capital Inicial, Lemos was a member of the seminal punk rock group Aborto Elétrico, where he collaborated closely with legendary singer and songwriter Renato Russo.

In addition to his drumming talents, Lemos has established himself as a skilled lyricist, co-writing several classic tracks such as Independência, Leve Desespero, and Música Urbana. Beyond his work with Capital Inicial, he has explored other musical avenues, including his electronic pop side project Hotel Básico, which has released multiple albums since its inception in 2005. His creative endeavors also extend to literature; in 2012, he published his book Levadas e Quebradas, documenting the history of the Brasília rock movement.

Throughout his decades-long career, Fê Lemos has remained an influential figure in the nation's alternative and rock scenes, continually evolving through collaborations with artists like Mel Ravasio. His enduring legacy is deeply intertwined with the history of punk and rock in the capital, cementing his status as a pillar of modern Brazilian music alongside contemporaries from the era.
