Born in Hône, a small village in the Aosta region of Italy, he began his musical studies at the age of four using the Suzuki Method. His classical training took place at the Conservatory of Aosta, followed by the study of modern music and jazz at the Liceu of Barcelona. In 2006, he received a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, becoming the only Italian cellist to receive such an honor.
His career in Brazil quickly gained prominence through collaborations with renowned artists of Brazilian popular music. Puppi was the co-producer of Maria Gadú's album "Guelã", a work that earned him a Latin Grammy nomination in 2015. He was also a member of Gadú's band for four years, touring theaters and festivals around the world. Throughout his career, he has performed and recorded with names such as Gilberto Gil, Ana Carolina, Milton Nascimento, Sérgio Mendes, among others.
Puppi is recognized for his intense performance and unique style that blends techniques, improvisation, and diverse soundscapes. In addition to his career as a musician, he is also dedicated to composing soundtracks for theater, film, and series, having received the Shell Award for best music for "Ficções".
