Biography
Felipe Roseno, also known as F. Rose, is a Brazilian percussionist, music and cultural producer with a career spanning over 20 years. His musical journey began at age 11 with capoeira, where he discovered percussion as a form of expression. Early in his career, he had trombonist Bocato as his musical godfather and mentor, who was instrumental in his training and entry into the professional music scene. Throughout his career, Roseno has established himself as one of Brazil's most versatile percussionists, seamlessly moving between the traditional and the contemporary.
Roseno is known for his long-standing collaboration with Ney Matogrosso, spanning over 15 years, participating in national and international tours, DVD recordings, and special projects such as Tiny Desk Brasil. In addition, his work can be heard on recordings with renowned artists like Elza Soares, with whom he recorded her last three albums, including "A Mulher do Fim do Mundo," winner of the Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Popular Music Album. His percussion has also been featured on Anavitória's latest work, "Cor," winner of two Latin Grammys. As a producer and musical director, Felipe Roseno has contributed to releases by Maria Gadú, such as the album "Quem Sabe Isso Quer Dizer Amor," and to theatrical productions.
He is the co-founder of the group "Os Capoeira" and the Casa de Cultura Os Capoeira, located in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, a space dedicated to the dissemination of ancient Brazilian culture. Roseno has also released original tracks, such as "Leve o Som," which blends percussion, poetry, and electronic textures, reflecting his artistic language developed over more than two decades.
