Biography

Felipe S, stage name of Felipe Souza Albuquerque, is a singer, songwriter, and music producer born in Olinda, Pernambuco, on March 19, 1976. He is known for being the lead singer of the band Mombojó, formed in the early 2000s and considered part of Recife's new Manguebeat generation. His musical career was solidified with Mombojó, with whom he released several critically acclaimed albums.

In his solo career, Felipe S. released his first album of original compositions in 2017, titled "Cabeça de Felipe". This work, which features a piece by his father, visual artist Maurício Silva, on the cover, explored sounds and formats that distanced themselves from the material produced with the band. In addition to his work with Mombojó and his solo career, Felipe S. has a prolific career as a producer and collaborator on various musical projects. He was a member of the band Del Rey, which reinterpreted the work of Roberto Carlos, and has worked with artists such as Vitor Araújo, A Banda de Joseph Tourton, China, Lucas Afonso, Barbarelli, among many others, demonstrating his versatility and strong connection to the Brazilian music scene.
