Fernanda Porto, born Maria Fernanda Dutra Clemente in Serra Negra, São Paulo, is a prominent Brazilian singer and multi-instrumentalist. She rose to fame in the early 2000s as a leading figure in the "drum 'n' bossa" movement, a sophisticated fusion of traditional bossa nova with the electronic textures of drum 'n' bass. This innovative sound, pioneered alongside producers like Xerxes de Oliveira, brought her international recognition. Her self-titled debut album, released in 2002, was a commercial and critical success, selling over 100,000 copies in Brazil and earning her a Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.\n\nThroughout her career, Porto has released several notable projects, including the albums "Giramundo" (2004) and "Corpo elétrico e alma acústica" (2020).
