Biography

Fernando de Castro Lobo was born in Recife on July 26, 1915, and established a notable career in national culture as a composer, journalist, and radio broadcaster. Throughout his career, he formed fruitful partnerships and had his works interpreted by great icons of Brazilian music, such as Dolores Duran, Luiz Gonzaga, and Francisco Alves.

His skill in composition resulted in classics recorded by important voices of the Radio Era. Among his most celebrated works are compositions such as "Chuvas de verão", interpreted by Francisco Alves, and "Ninguém me ama", written in partnership with Antônio Maria and recorded by Nora Ney.

He passed away in Rio de Janeiro on December 22, 1996, leaving an indelible legacy in the Brazilian popular repertoire. His songs also gained the voices of acclaimed artists such as Aracy de Almeida, Linda Batista, Orlando Silva, Dalva de Oliveira, Cauby Peixoto, and Elizeth Cardoso, in addition to partnerships with names like Dorival Caymmi.
